Liam Eight Month Update

Hi everyone!  I turned 8 months old yesterday, and I decided I'd better get on here and tell you what all I've been up to lately before we head out of town for Christmas in Georgia in a few days!  It's been a super busy month for me getting ready for Christmas, learning to eat regular food, and trying to crawl!

Stats:
Clothes size: 12 mos (& some 18 mos!)
Diaper size: 5
Nicknames: still Bubba!

What's New:
-I'm eating all table food.
-I'm trying really hard to crawl, but so far I can only scoot backwards and in circles on my tummy.
-I can clap.
-I can make all kinds of sounds now, including ba, da, ga, & ma.  I get pretty loud sometimes!
-I can take toys and blocks out of containers.  I'm not so good at putting them back yet...

Likes:
-Food!  Now that I'm eating all table food, I'll eat pretty much anything!  I start yelling as soon as my tray is empty.
-Banging toys together (It makes such a fun sound!)
-Talking & laughing, especially at my sister!
-Rocking from side to side constantly (when I'm sitting, standing, laying on my tummy, I'm always moving!)

Oh, I'm sorry Mama.  Did you want me to stay on the blanket?
Video of the Month:
Here I am trying to crawl and scooting myself backwards.  It makes me really mad sometimes!  Especially when my cousin James is over and I see him crawling around.  That really frustrates me!

The Nutcracker Tea Party

So one of my very favorite things right now is ballet.  I started taking a ballet class every Friday, and I LOVE it!  I get to dance and be girly and dress up like princesses and fairy tale characters, and it's pretty much the best thing ever as far as I'm concerned!  Anyway, since I love ballet so much, Mommy decided to take me to see The Nutcracker for the first time on Sunday.  It's a ballet about a little girl named Clara who gets a toy nutcracker from her godfather, and it comes to life and takes her to a magical place called the Land of Sweets!
Checking out the stage before the show
I love Mommy and Cate dates!
Nana and Aunt Hilary came, too, and so did some of my friends from church.  It was called the Nutcracker Tea Party because there was a tea party before the show.  We got to sit at fancy tables where we ate yummy treats and drank lemonade out of tea cups.  During the tea party, some of the dancers from the show were walking around with their costumes on, and you could get your picture taken with them.  I was a tiny bit nervous at first, but I got over it pretty quickly when I found a ballerina who was dressed like Princess Jasmine!  When it was time for the show, all the kids got to sit on the floor up front by the stage so we could see everything really well while the grown-ups stayed at the tables.  Mommy was worried that I would get scared, but I did a really great job!
I love using fancy tea cups!
The Arabian dancer looked like Princess Jasmine!
The Snow Queen was my favorite!
Posing in front of the big Christmas tree with my church friends
(and a few extra friends of Molly & Charlotte's)
It was so much fun seeing a real ballet!  I hope I get to go again next year!

Breakfast with Santa

Last Saturday Liam and James and I went to see Santa! He came to the Ceramic Cafe where I go sometimes to paint crafts.  It was early in the morning at breakfast time, so we got to wear our Christmas jammies.  First we ate a yummy breakfast.
Ready for breakfast!
We had a table to ourselves.
I was so excited about meeting Santa!
Next we visited with Santa and took pictures.  The boys both sat in his lap, but I was little bit nervous.  I really liked talking to Santa, I just didn't want to sit in his lap.  Instead, I stood beside his chair while the boys sat in his lap.  I told him that I've been a really good big sister this year, and I would really like a Princess Sofia amulet for Christmas.  He said he would write it down and tell his elves.  I hope he remembers!
Liam went first.  He really liked Santa!
Next it was the boys turn together.
My turn to join
Bubba and I both wore our reindeer striped jammies!
Telling Santa about the Princess Sofia amulet
After visiting with Santa, I got to paint a wreath ornament and make a clay handprint.  The boys both made clay footprints, too.  I can't wait until they're ready for us to pick up from the shop and put on our tree!
I love painting!
Can't wait to see how it turned out!

Thanksgiving 2015

Last Thursday was Thanksgiving, a day when we celebrate the things we have to be thankful for.  I learned this year about what it means to be thankful.  I even made a wreath out of painted clothespins, and Mommy and Daddy wrote things I was thankful for on each pin after dinner for the last few weeks before Thanksgiving.  Some of my favorites were "princesses, my family, Christmas, ballet, and make believe."

We spent Thanksgiving Day at Nana & Papa's house this year.  Daddy and Liam and I packed up the car and went out there in the morning to watch the parade and start working on the turkey while Mommy went to run in a race with Nana.  Then Mommy came back with Nana, and we spent the whole day cooking and playing and having fun!  At dinner time, Aunt Hilary, Uncle Jake, James, Aunt Meredith, Uncle Chris, Great Grandma, and Great Grandpa all came over, too.  We ate a BIG meal together.  I had a little cold, so I wasn't really that hungry, but I did LOVE the cranberry sauce!  It was my favorite!  Even Liam got to join the feast with a pile of mashed potatoes.  He made a huge mess, but he loved it!

That is one happy messy boy!

Liam and James had matching outfits!
My favorite thing to do all day was
pat the boys' booties and say "turkey booty!"
My whole family is so thankful for this little guy this year!
