On February 11th, my very first cousin was born! Aunt Hilary had a baby in her tummy just like Mommy, and it was time for the baby to come out. Mommy and Daddy told me the day before that Aunt Hilary was going to the hospital and the doctor was going to help her take the baby out. I was pretty sure it was a baby girl for the last few months before, but at the last minute I changed my mind and decided maybe it was a baby boy, and guess what? It was!!!

Mommy picked me up from school and we went to the hospital right after he was born, and we found out it was a boy and his name was James Turner Schmidt. I even got to go in his room to see him for a minute, even though little kids weren't supposed to go in! Aunt Hilary's nurse was really nice and let me sneak back for a minute anyway!

Everyone took turns meeting him and holding him in the hospital.

He stayed at the hospital with Aunt Hilary and Uncle Jake for a few days, and then he went home with them. We went to visit the day after they came home, and then I really got to see him up close and even helped Mommy hold him. I love him so much!

Being a cousin is so much fun! I hope being a big sister is this much fun, too! I've been telling Mommy all the things I'm going to teach them, like how to spin, jump, dance, and run really fast! I can't wait until my baby brother gets here, too!
