Catching Up With Caitlin: Christmas Down South

December was a very busy month for me and my family! After a couple of weekends of parties and family get-togethers, we went to Savannah to spend Christmas with Daddy's family. We drove this time, and I got sick in the car on the way there, so it was a very long trip! We finally made it, though, and I felt better as soon as we got there. GiGi, Daideo, Sean, and Aunt Brennan were all there already, and I was happy to see them and be out of the car! Nobody else got sick all week, either, so that was lucky!

We stayed at the beach house, and the first couple of days it was really warm! We even got to go down to the beach to play. It was pretty! I could walk around on the beach all by myself this time because I'm bigger now than last summer!

Another day we went to the mall in town to see Santa Claus and ride the Merry-go-round. I was not a fan of sitting in Santa Claus's lap, but I LOVED the merry-go-round! It was 2 stories tall, and we rode it twice so that Sean and I could ride on the bottom and the top. It was so much fun!

On Christmas Eve we went to Matey's church, and then we went to Daddy's uncle Tom's house. Daddy's cousin Megan and her husband Justin Johnson helped him host. Justin is a chef, so the food was delicious! A lot of the Hussey family was there, and so was the Johnson family, so it was a lot of people! And, for once, I wasn't the only kid! Sean was there, and so was Megan and Justin's son, baby William, and one of his Johnson cousins. We played by the Christmas tree, ate dinner, and then Sean and I got to watch a movie while the grown-ups played a silly game opening presents. By the time we got home and went to bed, it was 9:30, 2 hours after my normal bed time! I did great, though. I was having too much fun to remember that I was tired.

Christmas morning we got up at 6:30 and when we came upstairs, Santa had brought Sean and I lots of presents! I got a slide, a play house, and a stocking full of goodies! After playing with those, we all opened presents, and I got some more great stuff. My favorites were a car I can push all by myself and a baby doll from GiGi and Daideo. After presents, it was time for an early nap before heading into town again to Matey & Grandaddy's house, where we opened even MORE presents and then ate lunch. I was so exhausted that night that I went to bed super early at 6:30.

After Christmas, we had a couple of relaxing days at the beach house. We went to the beach to wander around and collect sea shells with Aunt Brennan, went to the park to play with Uncle Sean, went to Matey's house to have dinner another time, and spent a lot of time at the beach house playing with new toys!
