Getting Ready for Christmas

I have been having so much fun getting ready for Christmas this year!  This is the first year that I really understand what's happening, and I'm super excited!  I've been helping Mommy bake goodies for our friends, looking at Christmas lights, checking my new Advent calendar for treats and goodies every day, decorating our house, helping Mommy and Daddy wrap presents, and wishing everyone I see "Merry Christmas!"
Merry Christmas!
A couple weeks ago, we went out to the Christmas tree farm to pick our own tree.  It was so much fun!  There were all kinds of different trees: big ones, little ones, fat ones, skinny ones, spiky ones, soft ones.  We walked around and looked at lots of trees before we picked one out.  Then a nice man cut it down for us and tied it to our car, and we took it home to decorate.

How about this one?
This one was just my size
But we decided on this bigger one instead!
They had a sleigh just like Santa's to sit on!

When we got home, Mommy got out all the Christmas ornaments, and we spent the evening decorating the tree.  First Daddy put on the lights, then Mommy put on the ribbon, then it was time for the ornaments!  I helped with some of them.  I am so proud of our pretty tree!  We put it right in front of our living room window, and I love turning on the lights at night for everyone to see!

It's so pretty!
Then yesterday, Mommy and Aunt Hilary and I went to the zoo to see the animals have some Christmas fun!  It was cold, but we bundled up and had lots of fun!  First we watched the lions open Christmas presents.  They were so silly, they looked just like my kitties playing only a lot bigger!

One of the presents looked like a snowman, so I called him Olaf.
That lion got her head stuck in a present.  So silly!

One more peek before moving on to the cheetahs
Next we went to watch the cheetahs run.  Did you know that cheetahs are really fast?  They set up a little race course for them with a little piece of paper for them to chase.  One of the cheetahs was really into it, but the other one didn't care at all!  It was so funny!  Check it out!

After the cheetahs, we went to visit the penguins.  It was time for them to eat, so we got to see the zoo keepers come feed them fish.
These penguins liked to hang out together
Lunch time!
Some of the penguins were almost as big as me.
Last, we stopped to see the polar bears.  They have 2 polar bears at the zoo, but in the winter time polar bears like to be by themselves, so the girl polar bear was inside in her own suite.  We got to see the boy polar bear, Nikita.  He weighs almost 1200 lbs!
Nikita - Check out his huge paws!
I can't wait for Christmas to be here in just a few days so I can open presents, too, just like the lions!

Happy Turkey Day from Savannah

This year we went to Savannah for Thanksgiving.  We got up early the day before and rode 2 airplanes to get there.  I was big enough to have my own seat this time, and I did great!  I loved sitting by the window and looking out at the clouds.
Buckled in and ready to fly!
When we got there, GiGi and Aunt Brennan picked us up at the airport, and we went to Matey and GG Daddy's house first for a quick visit.  I got to tell them our news, that I'm going to have a baby brother!  First I told them it was a baby sister (even though Mommy and I had just practiced saying baby brother).  I thought it would be funny to confuse everyone!  After our quick visit, we got back in the car and drove to the beach, where we stayed for the whole week.  My cousin Ryleigh was there with her mom, Alisabeth, too.  She's 2, just like me!  We had fun playing doctor, coloring, and doing stickers together!

The next day was Thursday, Thanksgiving Day.  We watched a Thanksgiving parade on TV at the beach house and then got dressed and went to Aunt Patty and Uncle Ron's house for Thanksgiving lunch.  There were so many people there!  The food was really yummy.  My favorite thing was the butter beans.  I had so much fun running around with Sean and my little cousin, Will!  It was pretty nice, too, so we got to take some family pictures outside.

Being silly after lunch
On Friday, we mostly stayed at the beach house and played.  Sean and I had so much fun playing together this whole trip.  I loved sharing all of his "friends" (stuffed animals and superheroes), building towers with his blocks and then knocking them down, playing 5 silly monkeys jumping on the bed, going to the park to play, and reading stories together!

I found a drum at the park!

On Saturday, we went to the Hilton Hotel on Riverstreet downtown to see some really cool gingerbread houses they have on display.  There were all kinds of different houses to see!  My favorite was a gingerbread barn with little animals.  There were beautiful Christmas trees and decorations, too, and we got to go outside and watch the boats drive on the river.

We loved holding hands for pictures!

On Sunday, it was really really nice outside.  Daddy and Daideo went golfing, so Mommy, GiGi, Sean, and I decided to go down to the beach to play.  We had a blast digging in the sand, making castles and smashing them, and drawing letters and words with sticks.  GiGi helped me write my name in the sand.  I can't wait until summer when we get to go back and play at the beach some more!

Later we went to Matey and GG Daddy's house for dinner.  When we got there, Sean and I helped decorate our own gingerbread house together!  It wasn't quite as good as the ones we saw at the Hilton, but it was pretty fun.  My favorite part was putting the marshmallow trees in the yard (and eating the extra candy!)  Mommy and Daddy and I also got to open our Christmas presents from Matey and GG Daddy since we won't see them at Christmas this year.  My favorite thing I got was a penguin that came with a soft red blanket.  I named him Roger.
I was so proud of our little house!

Monday was our last day, so we wanted to do something really fun.  Sean got to stay home from school to play with me, so we went to Monkey Joe's.  It's this really awesome place where they have lots of blow-up bounce houses with slides, ladders, and all kinds of cool stuff.  I wasn't too sure about it at first, but after watching Sean a little bit, I got the hang of it!  I had a blast climbing and jumping!
Bouncing is so much fun!

After Monkey Joe's, we worked up an appetite, so we went out for pizza.  Sean and I shared a kids' cheese pizza, and I ate 4 pieces!  Then we headed back to the beach until Tuesday morning when it was time to pack up and fly home.  It was my favorite trip to Savannah yet, and I can't wait to go back and play with Sean and see GiGi and Daideo and everyone again!
