Last week I turned 3 years old!!! Can you believe it?! Mommy and Daddy can't! To celebrate, I had a Fancy Nancy tea party. She's my favorite book character right now. I loooove to read all of her books with Mommy and Daddy over and over until I memorize them, and then I can "read" them outloud myself. Mommy and Daddy are super impressed (and a little bit terrified) out how well I can remember them and pronounce all the fancy words! But anyway, back to my fancy tea party. First, Mommy picked out a very fancy outfit for me to where, of course. Check it out!

And yes, that is Mommy in the background wearing one of my other tiaras. We were playing princess Candyland, and everyone has to wear a tiara, even Daddy.
My birthday was on a Saturday this year, so we got to have my party on my actual birthday. So fun! I invited all girls this time. Nine of my friends came, from my little friend baby Mallory who isn't quite 1 year old yet, to my biggest friend, Molly, who is 8 and in 3rd grade this year! We started with lunch and "tea" (which was actually pink lemonade). The table was sooooo fancy! On the menu were: peanut butter and jelly and cheese tea sandwiches shaped like flowers and butterflies, fruit wands, cheese cubes with frilly toothpicks, and veggie cups with dip.

Daddy & Papa got to be the servers
Cheese (literally!)
After lunch, it was time to decorate our own tiaras!
Even baby Mallory got a tiara to decorate! (Her mommy helped)
Next came nail painting (by my fabulous Aunt Hilary) and Fancy Nancy story time. Mommy read my newest Fancy Nancy book that I got from GiGi and Daideo that morning, Fancy Nancy and the Wedding of the Century.
Jane was first for nail painting
We all lined up and took turns very politely because that's what you do at fancy parties.
Listening to the story
There was also a photo booth with lots of fancy props, and we took turns getting our picture taken while we were waiting for nails. It was very silly and fun!

I would only take my picture in the photo booth holding this baby doll. Mom says it's because I'm a threenager, whatever that means.
Silly Daddy!
Next it was time for presents! My friends must have realized how much I like fancy things because of my party, because I got lots of princess goodies! Nana even made me my very own set of princess dresses for dress-up! She made Cinderella, Snow White, Rapunzel, and (my favorite!) Tinkerbell! I also got some cool books, games, and shoes.
I "read" all of my cards myself. They all said "Happy birthday, Cate! Love, ____" according to me.
Mommy had to help with some of the ribbons
A Princess Sofia book!
One of my favs, Magiclip princess dolls! You can change their dresses, and the best part is I can do it all by myself!
Time for the big box from Nana...
Rapunzel!
Snow White!
Cinderella!
And trying on my favorite, Tinkerbell!
My favorite part of the party came last...cake and ice cream! There were strawberry cupcakes with pink, purple, and teal icing, and we got to make our own ice cream parfaits (Fancy Nancy taught me that's French for sundaes).
The dessert table
Back to the table for cupcakes and ice cream!
I was being shy while they were singing Happy Birthday
Everyone else got up to go play after a few minutes, but I wasn't leaving the table until I finished my dessert!
I waited all day for that cupcake!
I was one happy birthday girl!
I had such a blast at my fancy tea party! I love being 3 years old! I've even learned how to hold 3 fingers up, but it took some practice...
After the party, my parents had 1 more surprise for me... a new tricycle! I love it so much! I already rode it all the way to the park and back this weekend!
Check me out!
This was definitely my favorite birthday so far! I can't wait until I get another one next year, but I think Mommy & Daddy can!
